Susy Russell
Violin
Susy was our violinist and wife to Kevin, the guitar player. She played with us as an original member of the band through the end of 2007. Since she is married to Kevin, she may still show up on occassion! Susy left us because she is balancing family, kids and her business: Pain Free Performance. Look to see her once and a while.
At age 6, Susy was determined to play the violin, however, the only local teacher refused stating
"she is too old to start!" (the strict Suzuki philosophy). A year later the teacher reconsidered
and inspired a passion for music that began with years of classical training. Susy tried a little
Blue Grass along the way and joined a country band playing at a glamourous truck stop (a trailer
really) near Hazard, KY. Rock-n-roll and violin was a foreign concept but when Metanoia formed it
seemed like an exciting new challenge. It has continued to be a wild ride! Susy is the mother of 2
young children who love singing Love Shack and Mustang Sally at top volume as we pull up to
Charlottesville Catholic School. She works part time as a physical therapist but most importantly
is married to Metanoia's talented and handsome electric guitar player who continues to inspire her
love of music with his smile and enthusiasm.
